Centre for Children's Literature and Media

About the Centre

The Centre for Children’s Literature and Media conducts research as well as teaching and disseminating knowledge in the field of children’s literature and media.

Current research projects focus on digital children’s literature, media convergence and transmedial connections surrounding children’s literature and young adult fiction, children’s use and production of YouTube videos, and the establishment of a market for children’s literature in Denmark in the early 19th century.

We teach on Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in literature and media studies, at the AU Summer University, and on the professional Master’s degree programme in children’s literature. The Centre for Children’s Literature and Media has been running the School for Authors of Children's Literature since 1999.

The centre has a strong position in the international research community, in the public debate, and in relation to knowledge exchange. We also cooperate with institutions and colleges outside the university such as libraries, publishers and university colleges.

The centre was established in 1998, when it was known as the Centre for Children’s Literature.
